AI Model Service or DIY: Which Is Worth It for Your Shop?

A clothing shop has three routes to an AI model or AI male model: hire someone to make it for you, make it yourself with buttons, or hire a real model to shoot it. If you want several images a week from your shop's own garments, making it yourself with buttons in Plien Roob is faster and gives you more control, from 3 credits an image (standard quality) for jobs of 8 items or more. If you want someone to handle everything for you, hiring someone still fits better.

What an AI model service is, and the three routes

An AI model service means someone else makes the image of an AI model in your product. Making it yourself means you pick the model, scene and pose. Both routes give you a person who isn't real; the difference is who does the work and who controls the result. The table below compares all three routes on what a shop has to decide.

Building an AI male model: do men work like women

Male models work the same way. The library has both women and men, you pick from images you can see, and they work with Product to Model, try-on, image sets and multi-item jobs. A menswear shop can make an AI male model wearing its own products without hiring anyone.

Both are real results from the system. On the left, the male model and the scene were picked from the library. On the right, no one was picked from the library and the system made the person itself.

7 things you can do in Plien Roob

What you can make on this site. Each card is that tool's cover image; tap it to read how the tool works.

Making an AI model wear your shop's clothes in 4 steps

  1. In the studio, open the Product to Model tool and upload a photo of the clothes you took yourself

  2. Pick a female or male model from the library; if you pick no one, the system makes a person itself

  3. Pick a scene and a pose from the library

  4. Check the credit amount on the button, then generate; an image takes about a minute

The system tells the AI to keep the print, colour and lettering from your photo, but the AI redraws the whole image, so it can distort small parts. Check the print, colour and lettering against the real garment before you list every image.

What the library holds

There are 326 person images in the library, both female and male models, with Asian faces to choose from, and 84 poses. Some people and poses belong to the Premium plan, marked with a crown on the card in the picker.

Limits to know before you make it yourself

  • Not a done-for-you service: there is no team making images for you; you generate them on the site

  • The face changes every image if you don't pick a person from the library; to keep the same person, pick the same person from the library each time

  • The AI can distort small parts of the product, so check against the real garment before you list

  • The image must match the real product, and on Shopee it must be identified as AI-generated

When to hire someone, or a real model, anyway

If you want to send photos and wait for the result without pressing anything, a freelancer who builds AI models on a platform such as Fastwork fits better. Brand cover images, flagship products and campaigns that need a real person holding the real product are still worth a real model and photographer, while the routine weekly listing photos are the part that's cheaper to make yourself.

Frequently asked questions

What is an AI model service

An AI model service means someone else makes the image of an AI model wearing your shop's product. Making it yourself means you pick the model, scene and pose with a button-based tool. Both routes give you a person who isn't real.

Can I get an AI male model made for my shop

Yes. The library has both women and men. A menswear shop can pick a male model from the library, upload a product photo and generate it itself, with nobody to hire, and an image takes about a minute.

How do I make an AI model wear my shop's clothes

Upload a photo of the clothes you took yourself in the Product to Model tool, pick a model from the library, choose the scene and pose, then generate. The system tells the AI to keep the print, colour and lettering from your photo, but you should check every image against the real garment before listing.

Do AI models and AI male models work the same way

Yes. The library has both women and men, and both work with Product to Model, try-on, image sets and multi-item jobs.

What is the difference between hiring someone to build an AI model and doing it myself

Hiring someone means sending the photos and waiting on the provider's schedule. Doing it yourself in Plien Roob means you pick the person, scene and pose, and an image takes about a minute, but you check the image against the real garment yourself. Either way, check before you list.

Can I sell with AI model photos right away

Yes. In the official pages we read, neither Shopee nor TikTok Shop bans AI-generated images, but on Shopee the image must be identified as AI-generated, and both platforms want the image to match the real product.

Will the model have the same face in every image

If you don't pick a person from the library, the face changes every image. If you pick the same female or male model from the library each time, you get the same person in every image.

Can I make AI model images here right now

Yes, it's open. Sign up free for 10 credits, given once, with no card needed. Your first free-plan image has no watermark; the images after it do.
